Damselfish and its fake eyes


In a recent report published in Scientific Reports, scientists found that exposure upon predators, damselfish drastically increases the size of the spots on its skin. This mechanism is proposed to avoid any injury away from the head region, and it may give a false information to the predator of where the prey is going to escape.
